舞鶴・神崎フライトエリアの誕生 |
舞鶴・神崎フライトエリアの第一回イベントはなんと言ってもそのオープニングでしょう。
1980年（昭和55年）3月29日（土）、大川神社から宮司を迎え、永遠の安全フライトの祈願をしました。
来賓には後で舞鶴市市議会議長にもなられた梅原議員の参列をいただきました。
その日はＵＰさんの模範フライト、夜には大明寺で神崎の子供達を招いてハングのフライトの映画会を催しました。
翌日30日（日）は第一回ハンググライダーフライト競技会が催しされました。
競技参加者は山崎勇祐・只野直孝・小嶌悦夫・北村幸雄・藤長あけみ・武藤敬介・野田正彦・李哲鐘・山村森雄・柳原俊雄・市田博久・市田恵子・波多野康雄・畑中幸雄・大塚陽一・川瀬力・大山光男・溝口透・柴村泰則・岩井・佐上邦・有田・佐藤英寿・福岡顕・野口章・元村英次・土谷滋・椎名房明・河野悦蔵・布施敏明・篠畑周一・尚永正清・川崎潤・高田末則・中山俊春・城屋良一・田中一広・貝増新一郎・坂根良成・村上貴是（40名）

Oath
I will act on the philosophy of the society: “Safe, Fun, and beautiful
forever”, accept the rules
and practice safety, and behave on my own responsibility as a member of
the society.
In the case of an accident, I will handle the accident promptly with good
faith and will not hold
Maizuru Kanzaki Flight Area Society and Maizuru city and other related areas responsible for
the accident.

Application for Membership
1. You can
apply for membership with the MKFAS secretariat or Takeuchi Liquor Shop to hand
in the application form with \10,000 as a membership fee.

After you send the application by
e-mail, send \10,000 to the MKFAS secretariat.
2. After the
MKFAS secretariat examines the application, the membership card will be sent to
a qualified applicant.
3. You are
still not a member until all the procedures are completed.
*The rate of accidents is high in the process of application. So, please make sure
to practice flight safety and
remember flight rules.
*MKFAS does not accept any visitors for flight.
4. When MKFAS
finds you unqualified as a member, it can suspend or/and take away your
membership.

MKFAS rule and Safety
1. Philosophy
Our philosophy is “Safe, Fun, and beautiful forever”.
2. Attitude
You must keep in mind that MKFAS can fly thanks to the understanding and cooperation of
Maizuru citizens and other activity areas such as Kanzaki and Aoi.
3. Rules
1) You can fly in the Maizuru Kanzaki area after you become a MKFAS
member. MKFAS
does not accept any non-members and visitors
.
2) Greet the
residents in the flight area with a slight bow and try not to disturb anyone.
3) You must practice flight safety and avoid any conduct that could be expected
to obstruct
that safety.
4) In the case
of an accident, all members must join in the rescue operation.
“We will not have any members killed.”
5) You must be
careful when using fire. Never cause
fires.
6) You must
bring back all garbage that you have or find to maintain cleanliness in the
area.
7) You must
act voluntarily to conserve the areas, such as
cutting grass. You may get back
the expenses for maintenance of the area such as cleaning, by handing
in the receipt to
MKFAS for examination.
8) You must
use the MKFAS exclusive parking when you land on the mouth of a river.
* Citizens lend us the
parking for free on the condition that we cut grass.
They also put in a water pump for
us.
9) You must
try to join cleaning on Kanzaki beach voluntarily on Sunday in the
middle of June every year.
4.Safety of Flight
1) Register
your flight at Takeuchi liquor shop before the flight and report after.
2) Make sure of the safety of the landing zone, check your lifesaving equipment
and hung
a tubular streamer.
3) Do not fly
when you have or suspect to have any, physical or mental difficulties.
4) Check your
glider thoroughly.
5) Prepare a
parachute for emergency and make sure it works.
6) Make sure to equip a carabineer of harness for hang gliders, a belt and a carabineer of
a rescue parachute for paragliders, just before your flight.
7) Flights are not allowed when the wind blows at speeds of 25 or more meters
per second
for Paragliders, 10 or more meters per second for hang gliders.
8) Flights are
not allowed when the visibility is not clear.
9) Flights are
not allowed with a fair wind.
10) Fights are not allowed in the place where
a gust or turbulence occurs.
11) Flights over houses are not allowed.
12) Flights 1 hour after sunrise and before
sunset are not allowed.
13) Do not land on beaches in swimming areas from July 1 to August 31. You may land
on
beaches in non-swimming areas.
14) As a rule, landing zone is the mouth of Yura river and also, paraglider
pilots may land on
beaches of swimming areas.
15) Eastern tip of beaches that are bathing places are set to be an emergency
landing zone for
paraglider pilots.
16) Flight
with a party of two or more.
17) Pilots
standing by for flight must not interrupt other pilots.
18) After filing “a written accident report” immediately after accident and
later “a written
handling of accident report”, pilots must exercise caution so as not
to repeat accidents.
5. Flight Traffic Rules
1) Pilots must keep to the right.
2) Pilots on
the right must take priority.
3) Pilots
closer to slope must take priority.
4) Pilots
lower must take priority.
5) Pilots must
turn the same direction with the pilots ahead in the thermal.
6) Pilots must
pass from the right side.
7) Pilots must
fly to the pilots ahead with flight course and tuning direction.
8) No more
than 10 pilots must fly in the ridge soaring.
6. Penal regulations
1) MKFAS fine
double the entrance fee for unqualified pilots.
2) MKFAS may
ask a violator for a written apology depending on the situation.
3) MKFAS may suspend or take away MKFAS membership for members who demonstrate
unsuitable behavior.

・Kanzaki area accepts MKFAS because of appreciation
of members’ effort.
・Please say hello or greet with a slight bow
to the residents in the area as much as you can.
You can fly all season except the time when
you are unable to climb Mt.Yarri because of snow
(around
February).
Main landing zone is the mouth of Yura river.
Emergency landing zone is the beach below northern
lancher.
Always think about the steps to deal with landing on
the water because it is close to the sea and river.
Characteristics of Maizuru Kanzaki Flight Area
・Stable ridge soaring is the main on the
northern side by sea breeze.
・You might encounter a big thermal in the
south.
Rotor might come out from the right hand side of Mt. Sankaku (382M).
・You can take off from the northern and southern
sides at the same time a few times a year.
・Wind from north and south meet at the mouth
of the river, which causes wind share.
So, be aware
of the streamer.
Notice that
share occurs at 10 to 100m.
・From the end of September to around 20th
of October, the ascending current occurs over the
surface of the
sea because of “Sea Abent”. It makes you
happy and sad, but happy to fly down harder.
・In summer, the wind often changes to the
north wind ( a sea breeze).
・In summer, clouds occur around the mouth of
the river and the tip of the mountain so that you
can sometimes
“play with clouds”. At that time, you
might happen to see “The Brocken
phenomenon”
which people dream to see.
・You can sometimes enjoy one of the
characteristics of Kanzaki area with a long ridge. After taking
off with no
wind, you go up to 800m, which allows you to enjoy comfortable ridge soaring.
・When you take off seeing a rainbow, you might be able to see the rainbow
become longer to form
a round rainbow. You can enjoy the impressive
moment just for yourself.
Please take good care of the Maizuru Kanzaki flight Area to keep flying in this
mysterious and safe area.
Steps for landing on the water
Please help to prevent accidents caused by on-water landings.
1. Receive proper information on this area before your flight and guidance
from experienced
members by radio on your flight if you are a
less experienced member. (radio frequency
435.86MHz)
2. Decide another emergency landing zone along with the first landing zone before your flight.
3. Prepare the lifesaving equipment for landing on the water, if you
are not a good swimmer.
4. Do not fly in wind of 6 or more meters per second for paraglider pilots
10 or more meters per
second for hang gliders pilots.
5. Perform the landing approach at the windward as quickly as you can in strong
wind not to be
flown by the wind and be too ahead.
6. , Make sure that you can easily take off the belt for paraglider, carabineer
for hang glider ,
before your flight, in the event of landing on water. If you land on the water, move your
body from your glider immediately as to not get involved in another accident.
7. Check your clothes in advance so as not to get it in the way of swimming. Take off your
clothes in the water if it is necessary in the case of landing on water.
8. Prepare
rescue equipment under the streamer at landing zone to use any time.
9. We prepare
rescue equipment at the Maizuru Kanzaki Flight Area Society exclusive parking
in the mouth of Yura river.
Matters to be attached to Maizuru Kanzaki Flight Area
・Notice that lots
of wind meets at the mouth of Yura river, the first landing zone
so that you might
not be able to go ahead.
・Notice that wind
from east may make a rotor of a pinery and disturb the landing zone.

independently.

to use Kanzaki area for over night stay and shopping if possible.

in the cleaning operation in the Kanzaki area in middle of June as much as you
can.
